Your new role:
As a Software Verification Engineer you be one of our quality consultants performing on one of our major engineering projects in the UK. You will also be contributing to our development and growth within the Aerospace industry.
As a Software Verification Engineer your main responsibilities will be:
- Delivery and execution of Test in different test vehicles – Low Level Requirement Testing, High Level Requirement Testing, Software-Software Integration Testing, Hardware-Software Integration Testing
- Creation of Test cases and Test Procedures for each test vehicle.
- Creation and management of Test plans and schedules; ownership of all documentation necessary for success of deliveries.
- Communication of work status to team lead and wider audiences including senior management if required.
- Ensuring the adoption of company technical and Project management processes.
Who are we looking for?
The ideal candidate will possess a passion for Engineering, with a result oriented and proactive mind-set. The successful candidate will have the chance to work on several exciting projects throughout their career with Alten, developing their engineering knowledge as a System Design engineer and a consultant.
Experience required:
- Working knowledge of software design, system architecture, software and/or hardware architecture, software and hardware development process constraints and embedded software testing at module level.
- A working appreciation of associated engineering disciplines for real time embedded control; preferably Gas Turbine Controls System.
- Proven ability to understand complex design and code written in Ada, C or another comparable language.
- Understanding of the issues and constraints of real time, safety critical, embedded products.
- Experience with developing applications in compliance with safety critical standards such as DO178 (software) would be ideal.
- Experience with model based development tools – Not Mandatory
- Rigorous approach to testing including boundary class testing and structural coverage techniques.
Tools:
- PTC Integrity or similar tool for configuration management and change control.
- Matlab / Simulink, SCADE or other model based development tools – Not Mandatory
- Artisan or similar UML tool – Preferable
- LDRA Testbed, Adatest, Cantata type low level test tools
- Closed loop control simulation environments both software based and hardware in the loop.
- Reqtify or similar traceability tools.
Qualifications required:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or higher (Aeronautical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Science)
