What will you be doing? 

As a Calibration and Validation & Verification Engineer, you will join Derby team to support our activities within the Automotive sector. 

Your main responsibilities will be: 

  • Lead a team of base engine and aftertreatment system calibration engineers.
  • Develop and manage test plans, identifying necessary deliverables to meet project timelines and objectives.
  • Coordinate test bed and machine engine calibration activities, including climatic testing, to meet off-highway emissions and performance goals.
  • Prepare and present development status updates to the senior management team.
  • Work on compression and spark ignition combustion systems.
  • Develop fuel injection equipment.
  • Handle air systems, including turbochargers and EGR systems.
  • Develop aftertreatment technologies (various NOx reduction methods, PM PN filtration hardware).
  • Manage base engine performance and emissions calibration.
  • Oversee aftertreatment performance and control (deNOx, DPF).
  • Ensure aftertreatment and engine diagnostics are up to standard.
  • Apply relevant legislation to hardware selection and calibration processes.

Who are we looking for? 

  • Experience in IC engine and aftertreatment calibration.
  • Knowledge of off-highway, heavy-duty, or automotive electric/electronic systems.
  • Familiarity with Tier I supplier engine management systems and model-based engine control.

Experience, skills and qualifications required: 

  • A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in calibrating internal combustion engines, particularly in off-highway, heavy-duty, or automotive sectors.
