We are seeking a skilled and experienced Software Test Engineer to join our dynamic team in Crawley. This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects within the defence sector, providing a challenging and rewarding environment for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Simulation Software Proficiency: Operate and troubleshoot a variety of simulation software and tools for virtual testing and scenario modelling.
  • Hardware Equipment Testing: Conduct detailed tests on physical rig hardware systems, ensuring rigorous and thorough examination of all components.
  • Testing Methods: Perform integration testing, system testing, acceptance testing, regression testing, and performance testing.
  • Comprehensive Results Documentation: Record test results meticulously, identify and document test procedure failures, deviations, and software malfunctions, and analyze their causes and implications. Prepare thorough reports and corrective action plans.
  • Embedded Systems Testing: Engage in manual testing, write test scripts and cases, carry out tests, analyze results, compile test evidence, and create problem reports.

 

Requirements:

  • Experience in simulation software and hardware equipment testing.
  • Experience with Linux (Redhat/CentOS)
  • Proficiency in multiple testing methodologies.
  • Strong documentation skills.
  • Background in embedded systems testing, including manual testing and writing test scripts.
  • Due to the nature of the defence industry will require successful applicant to be a sole British citizen eligible for security clearance 
  • Able to be on site in Crawley 3 days a week (hybrid role)

Tools:

  • Familiarity with JIRA, DOORS, and VMWare is beneficial but not essential.

Experience:

  • Experience in the defence sector, knowledge of radar systems, system engineering, and requirements management is advantageous but not mandatory.
