What will you be doing? 

As a Fire System Engineer, you will join our Derby team to support our activities within the Energy sector. 

Your main responsibilities will be: 

• Design and engineer fire suppression systems and safety systems, ensuring compliance with relevant safety standards and regulations.
• Apply thermodynamic principles and nuclear industry knowledge to the design of safety systems.
• Design and analyse mechanical piping and water systems, including pumps, pipelines, filters, and related equipment.
• Perform hands-on calculations, including pressure drop calculations, and create detailed Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) for systems such as wastewater and compressed air.

Who are we looking for? 

• Engineers with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
• Engineers with strong knowledge of thermodynamics, preferably with experience in the nuclear sector.

Experience, skills and qualifications required: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, or a related field.
• experience in designing fire safety systems, including fire suppression systems, with a focus on compliance and safety.
• Proven experience in mechanical piping and water system design, including hands-on calculations and P&ID creation.
