Job Description

What will you be doing? 

As a Passenger Information Systems Engineer, you will join our team in Derby to support our activities within the Rail sector. 

Your main responsibilities will be: 

• Test and validate Passenger Information Systems (PIS) to ensure they meet functional, safety, and performance requirements.
• Perform Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing to simulate real-world rail environments and scenarios.
• Develop and execute test plans and procedures, focusing on hardware and software integration.
• Identify and troubleshoot hardware and software issues, ensuring timely resolutions

Who are we looking for? 

• Experience in Passenger Information Systems (PIS) testing within the rail sector.
• Proven Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing experience in a relevant industry (e.g., rail, automotive, aerospace).
• Knowledge of railway signalling systems and communication protocols.

Qualifications

Experience, skills and qualifications required: 

• Knowledge of relevant industry standards, such as EN 50128 and EN 50129 for railway applications.
• Understanding of networking protocols used in PIS systems (e.g., Ethernet, TCP/IP, RS485).
• Experience working with embedded systems and/or real-time operating systems.
• A relevant degree in engineering.
