Job Description

What will you be doing? 

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will join Derby team to support our activities within the Aerospace sector. 

Your main responsibilities will be: 

• Develop and conduct FEA simulations using LS-Dyna or other relevant software to analyse the structural behaviour of aerospace components.
• Create accurate and detailed FEA models, including material properties, boundary conditions, and loads.
• Perform linear and nonlinear analyses, such as static, dynamic, fatigue, and crash simulations.
• Demonstrate proficiency in using LS-Dyna software to perform complex FEA simulations
• Develop and validate material models for various aerospace materials, such as metals, composites, and polymers.

Qualifications

Experience, skills and qualifications required: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to aerospace design and analysis.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and address challenges in FEA modelling.
• Experience in conducting structural analyses of aerospace components, such as airframes, structures, and systems.
• Proficiency in using LS-Dyna or other relevant FEA software.
• Proven experience in developing and validating material models for various aerospace materials, including metals, composites, and polymers.
