Job Description

What will you be doing? 

As a Configuration Manager, you will join our team in Birmingham to support our activities within the Aerospace sector. 

Your main responsibilities will be: 

  • Manage the Pre and Post Preliminary Design Review (PDR) and Critical Design Review (CDR) processes.
  • Oversee Change Control processes, including the creation and management of Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) using Teamcenter (PDM).
  • Ensure accurate Change Data Management within Teamcenter and other systems, maintaining up-to-date records of all configurations.
  • Perform Part Model Up-issues and manage Problem Reports and Change Requests effectively.
  • Coordinate and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) for various aerospace products.
  • Manage and document Modifications and Bulletins related to product changes.
  • Lead the Technical Release process, ensuring timely and accurate release of Design Documents, following a structured Signature Loop.
  • Engage in Stakeholder Management, working closely with cross-functional teams to provide updates and ensure timely action on deliverables.
  • Chase and follow up on processes on-site to ensure smooth workflow and address any challenges proactively.

Who are we looking for? 

  • Proven experience in a Configuration Manager role, preferably within the aerospace industry.
  • Strong knowledge of Teamcenter for Product Data Management (PDM).
  • Experience with Engineering Change Requests (ECRs), Bill of Materials (BOM) management, and configuration processes.
  • Familiarity with Pre/Post PDR/CDR processes and Change Control methodologies.

Qualifications

Experience, skills and qualifications required: 

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in engineering or any related field.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Strong Stakeholder Management skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and influence others.
