Job Description

What will you be doing? 

As a Principle Project Engineer, you will join Cambridge team to support our activities within the Rail sector. 

Your main responsibilities will be: 

  • Manage subcontractor activities, ensuring quality, timely delivery, and alignment with project requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards (RSSB, Network Rail, etc.) and safety regulations across all project phases.
  • Lead safety assurance processes, including conducting and supporting risk assessments.
  • Coordinate design activities with engineering teams to ensure integration with overall project goals.
  • Oversee technical and construction integration, ensuring seamless project delivery onsite.

Who are we looking for? 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly.
  • A1 audit qualification or equivalent, with the ability to perform compliance audits.
  • Engineering Manager (Lead Engineer) (6.8.110) plus Module F (Project Engineer) or Project Engineer 1.2.230 IRSE Licence.
  • Extensive experience in railway signalling design, installation, or testing, with knowledge of construction methods and materials

Qualifications

Experience, skills and qualifications required: 

  • Training in CSM safety management processes.
  • MSc or BSc degree in an engineering discipline.
  • Valid Personal Track Safety (PTS) Certificate.
  • Corporate membership of the IRSE (Institute of Railway Signalling Engineers) with IEng or higher.
