Job Description

What will you be doing? 

As a Supplier Support Engineer, you will join our Aberdeen team to support our activities within the Maritime sector. Are you ready to dive into the cutting-edge world of underwater vision systems? At ALTEN, we’re looking for a talented Supplier Support Engineer to work with our expert teams on exciting projects like advanced video inspection systems and subsea LED technologies. If you thrive in solving complex technical challenges and want to make an impact in the marine and subsea industry, this is the opportunity for you!

Your main responsibilities will be: 

  • Conduct supplier audits to ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
  • Respond to Supplier Technical Requests, addressing queries related to design, materials, or production.
  • Raise Purchase Orders (POs) for critical components to support project timelines.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to support the development and delivery of subsea components, such as underwater cameras, LED lights, and fibre-optic connectors.
  • Monitor and maintain quality standards across the supply chain, ensuring seamless integration into subsea systems.
  • Provide on-site support in Aberdeen, liaising directly with engineering teams and suppliers.

Qualifications

Experience, skills and qualifications required: 

  • A degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
  • 1–4 years of experience in supplier management, procurement, or a similar role in engineering industries such as marine, energy, defence, or aerospace.
  • Proficiency in conducting supplier audits and managing supplier technical queries.
  • Familiarity with tools and processes like purchase orders (POs) and supply chain quality assurance.
  • Knowledge of subsea engineering, with an understanding of components like cameras, connectors, and LED lighting systems.
  • Ability to obtain BPSS clearance (required).
