Job Description

What will you be doing? 

Are you ready to accelerate your career in automotive engineering? Join ALTEN LTD as a Powertrain Test Engineer and work on cutting-edge powertrain systems for the future of electric and hybrid vehicles. You’ll play a vital role in testing and debugging advanced technologies, ensuring performance and reliability for next-generation vehicles. This is a fantastic opportunity to work hands-on with HiL systems, Dyno testing, and high-voltage power electronics, while collaborating with industry experts.

Your main responsibilities will be: 

  • Powertrain Debugging: Identify, investigate, and resolve issues in powertrain systems, focusing on inverters and hybrid components.
  • HiL SW Test Delivery: Develop and deliver Hardware-in-the-Loop (HiL) tests to validate powertrain software performance.
  • Dyno Testing: Conduct and oversee dyno-based powertrain testing, simulating real-world performance scenarios.
  • High-Voltage Component Analysis: Work with high-voltage systems and power electronics to ensure functionality and safety standards are met.
  • Test Plan Management: Create, execute, and manage test plans, reporting results and progress to stakeholders.
  • Cross-Functional Team Collaboration: Coordinate with software, hardware, and rig teams to ensure seamless test execution and issue resolution.

Qualifications

Experience, skills and qualifications required: 

  • Experience in Powertrain Debugging: Hands-on expertise with inverters or hybrid powertrain systems.
  • HiL Testing Knowledge: Familiarity with Hardware-in-the-Loop setups and testing processes.
  • Dyno Testing Experience: Proven ability to perform and interpret dyno-based tests.
  • High Voltage and Power Electronics: Understanding of HV systems, including power electronics and safety protocols.
  • Degree in Engineering: Preferably in Mechanical, Electrical, or related disciplines.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Ability to present findings and collaborate with diverse teams effectively.
