What will you be doing? 

Do you thrive in fast-paced environments where innovation meets excellence? Join ALTEN LTD, a global engineering consultancy, as a Safety Engineer. In this role, you’ll collaborate with a cutting-edge California-based team to shape the future of safety engineering. Whether you’re bringing expertise from OEMs or contractor roles, this is your chance to play a pivotal role in safety CAE while working on ground breaking projects in the automotive industry.

Your main responsibilities will be: 

  • Apply your expertise in safety CAE (Computer-Aided Engineering) to ensure product safety and performance.
  • Collaborate with the California-based team, requiring regular travel to the US to align on safety objectives and strategies.
  • Bring knowledge and skills gained from both OEMs and contractor roles, adapting to a dynamic environment.
  • Deliver and support safety engineering solutions in a fast-moving and flexible workplace.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to maintain industry safety standards and contribute to project success.
  • Proactively identify and resolve safety-related challenges in line with project timelines and goals.

Qualifications

Experience, skills and qualifications required: 

  • Approximately 5 years of experience in safety engineering (or 3 years for junior engineers with the willingness to learn and be coached).
  • Strong understanding of Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) in the context of safety.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt and excel in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
  • Experience working with both OEMs and contractors, offering a well-rounded perspective on safety challenges.
  • A passion for innovation and the ability to work independently as well as part of a global team.
  • Flexibility to travel regularly to California for project collaboration and alignment.
