Job Description

What will you be doing? 

Are you ready to be a part of shaping the future of electric vehicle technology? ALTEN LTD is seeking an Inverter Commission and Test Engineer to join our expert automotive team. You’ll be working hands-on with critical inverter technology, ensuring top performance and reliability for tomorrow’s electric vehicles. Dive into a collaborative role, where you’ll manage testing, coordinate with technical teams, and contribute to cutting-edge automotive projects.

Your main responsibilities will be: 

  • Inverter Commissioning and Testing: Lead the commissioning of inverters on test rigs, ensuring they operate at peak performance.
  • Manage and Execute Test Plans: Design, implement, and manage detailed test plans, monitoring and recording every step to ensure quality and compliance.
  • Presenting Test Results: Analyze and summarize test results, presenting findings and progress updates to stakeholders and team members.
  • Team Coordination: Collaborate with software, hardware, ECU, and rig engineers to ensure seamless test setup, execution, and reporting.
  • Prioritizing Test Resources: Oversee and prioritize work for two full-time test engineers, ensuring focus on the most critical testing tasks.
  • Compliance and Reporting: Ensure all test activities adhere to industry standards and document progress, ensuring high standards are met.

Qualifications

Experience, skills and qualifications required: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field).
  • Experience with rig testing and commissioning: Especially within the automotive domain.
  • Technical Skills in Inverter Testing: Understanding of inverters, including setup, testing, and problem-solving.
  • Test Plan Management: Ability to create, monitor, and report on structured test plans.
  • Coordination and Communication: Excellent team coordination skills for working with various stakeholders.
