Job Description

What will you be doing? 

Are you ready to design the future of electronic warfare systems? Join ALTEN Ltd, a global engineering consultancy and work on advanced projects in the defence and aerospace sectors. We’re seeking an experienced Electronic Systems Engineer to contribute to the development of cutting-edge weapon locating systems. This is your chance to work on projects that integrate hardware, software, and firmware into highly sophisticated solutions.

Your main responsibilities will be: 

• Develop and validate hardware designs, including PCB layouts, ensuring compliance with defence industry standards;
• Define and manage system requirements, working closely with cross-disciplinary teams;
• Integrate hardware, software, and firmware, ensuring seamless system functionality for electronic warfare applications;
• Conduct EMC design and testing to meet industry and regulatory specifications;
• Support the development and implementation of microprocessor-based systems, ensuring performance and reliability;
• Contribute to the prototyping and testing of advanced electronic systems in collaboration with the wider engineering team.

Qualifications

Experience, skills and qualifications required: 

• 5+ years of experience in electronic systems engineering, preferably in defence or aerospace sectors;
• Proven expertise in PCB design, hardware development and electronic warfare systems;
• Experience in EMC design and compliance testing;
• Strong understanding of microprocessor architecture and hardware-software integration;
• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Electronic Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field;
• SC Clearance or eligibility to obtain SC Clearance is mandatory.
