Job Description

What will you be doing? 

Are you ready to shape the future of unmanned maritime systems? Join ALTEN Ltd, a global engineering consultancy, and contribute to state-of-the-art projects in the defence and maritime sectors. We’re seeking an experienced Front-End Java Developer to work on cutting-edge Unmanned Surface Ship technologies. This is your opportunity to make a tangible impact on the future of naval innovation.

Your main responsibilities will be: 

• Develop and optimize front-end interfaces for HMI/GUI systems, enabling efficient visualization of operational data for unmanned maritime platforms;
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design user-centric interfaces that meet the unique demands of the defence and maritime sectors;
• Implement and enhance Java-based applications, ensuring high performance and scalability;
• Conduct testing and validation of user interfaces, ensuring compliance with industry standards and security requirements;
• Utilize expertise in data visualization to present complex datasets in a clear and intuitive manner;
• Maintain rigorous adherence to SC clearance protocols and defence industry standards.

Qualifications

Experience, skills and qualifications required: 

• 5+ years of experience in front-end development, with a focus on Java-based applications.
• Proven expertise in GUI and HMI development, particularly for defence or maritime systems.
• Strong background in data visualization techniques and tools.
• Familiarity with the defence and maritime industries, including security protocols.
• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
• SC Clearance or eligibility to obtain SC Clearance is mandatory
